Bartholomew Augustine ("BA" or "Bob") Santamaria (14 August, 1915 - 25 February, 1998) was an Australian journalist and an influential figure in the country's political and intellectual life, particularly in the third quarter of the 20th century.Santamaria held conservative Catholic social values, and was a staunch anti-communist. At the same time, he was opposed to the excesses of capitalism and argued that community and tradition should be placed before profit.
Santamaria was a key figure in the 1955 split of the Australian Labor Party, and was the intellectual figurehead of the breakaway DLP.
