Expressions Definition
Anima (Final Fantasy X) Anima is one of the most powerful Aeons in Final Fantasy X. (references)
Anima (Fire Emblem) Anima Magic in the Fire Emblem series of video games consists of a collection of offensive elemental magic spells in the game's trinity of magic. Anima is described as the magic of nature (akin to a Dungeons and Dragons druid's power) and the elements. Anima is divided up by attack attribute into each of the four elements of Fire Emblem: ice, lightning, fire and wind. The various spells using these elements are called (in order of increasing power) Fire, Thunder, Elfire (sometimes referred to as Hellfire), Bolting, Fimbulvetr, Aircalibur and the S rank ultimate magic. Fire and Elfire make use of fire attacks, while Thunder and Bolting make use of thunder. Fimbulvetr naturally uses ice, while Aircalibur uses wind. Aircalibur may or may not be present in the game, and is occasionally replaced with the spell Excalibur instead. Each game also includes one S rank ultimate magic, fitting in with all the S rank ultimate weapons of that game (there are usually nine), which is occasionally also the wind spell. (The S rank refers to the level of skill required to wield it: in Fire Emblem, a weapon user or magic user's proficiency with their weapon of choice is ranked from E, onto D, C, B, A and then S, with repeated use of a weapon type increasing skill level). Anima (Jung) Anima, according to Carl Jung, is the feminine side of a man's personal unconscious. It can be identified as all the unconscious feminine psychological qualities that a man possesses. In a film interview, Jung was not clear if the anima/animus archetype was totally unconscious, calling it "a little bit conscious" and unconscious. In the interview he gave an example of a man who falls head over heels in love, then later in life regrets his blind choice as he finds that he has married his own anima, the unconscious idea of the feminine in his mind, rather than the woman herself. The anima is usually an aggregate of a man's mother but may also incorporate aspects of sisters, aunts, and teachers. (references)
Anima mundi Anima mundi is the soul of the world, a pure ethereal spirit, which was proclaimed by some ancient philosophers to be diffused throughout all nature. (references)
Anima Mundi (event) Anima Mundi is a competitive Brazilian video and film festival devoted exclusively to animation, held every July in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil. (references)
Anima Mundi (film) Anima Mundi is a 1991 short documentary film directed by Godfrey Reggio. The film focuses on the world of nature and wildlife, particularly jungles, sealife, and insects. The movie was commissioned by Italian jewellers Bulgari for use by the World Wildlife Fund in their Biological Diversity Program. (references)
Anima Relics Anima Relics, or Vessles of Anima, are artifacts that were uncovered along with the Zohar during the excavation at Lake Turkana in 2001 AD. They are introduced in Xenosaga EPISODE II as being primary components of the E.S. series of battle robots, where they heighten the response rate between the E.S. and the pilots. Despite their origin and true purpose not being explained, the Anima Relics feature as a prominent symbol throughout EPISODE II, appearing in the game's logo and in the title 'attract' screen.
