System Development and Demonstration (SDD)Military1. The third phase of the life cycle as defined and established by DoDI 5000.2. This phase consists of two efforts, System Integration (SI) and System Demonstration (SD), and begins after Milestone B. It also contains a Design Readiness Review (DRR) at the conclusion of the SI effort. A successful Milestone B can place the program in either SI or SD. A program planning to proceed into SD at the conclusion of SI will first undergo a DRR to confirm that the program is progressing satisfactorily during the phase. 2. Budget Activity (BA) 5 within a Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) appropriation account. Involves mature system development, integration and demonstration to support Milestone C decisions and the conduct of Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) and Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E) of production representative articles.
